Vans presents the Skate BR collection that was developed and produced exclusively in Brazil, honoring the culture and essence of the Brazilian skate scene.
The new collection celebrates the creativity of national skaters and highlights the true skate scene in Brazil, even in the face of adversity. Inspired by the lives of skaters and a strong sense of community, especially through the spirit of “Do It Yourself” (DIY), it brings four t-shirt options with a local perspective.
The fun prints on the t-shirts illustrate the creative way skaters deal with the day-to-day challenges of skating in the country. These t-shirts were carefully crafted with key features like chunky fabric similar to the Vans Skateboarding division’s global collections, plus they feature the global skate line’s flag side tag.
There are four models of unisex t-shirts that make up the collection:
REPAIR SS – Emphasizing the sense of community in the skateboarding scene, this tee represents how skaters come together to contribute to rink maintenance and repair, plugging potholes and fixing wear and tear.
RESTORATION II SS – Inspired by comics, this t-shirt portrays the challenges faced by skaters due to the lack of maintenance on some skate spots, which accumulate small stones and cause wear and deformation on the wheels.
HOMEMADE V2 SS – Brazilian skaters are known for resorting to DIY methods to create their own skate wax, and this t-shirt features a skull making its own wax, highlighting the skill and creativity of local skaters.
DROP TAPE LS – This tee features the effect of silver tape, which skaters use to extend the durability and lifespan of their shoes. The Vans logo and iconic Checkerboard embody this element in prints.
This exclusive collection is only available in Brazil, reinforcing Vans’ commitment to enabling the creative expression of Brazilian skaters, who have been on the scene since 1966. With these shirts, Vans seeks to connect even more with this community and show that it is always attentive to their needs and values.
