Novo Hamburgo’s Golden Series Futsal Cup is reaching the final stretch of the group stage. In the last week, the fourth round games were held, which defined the first classified teams for the quarterfinals. The competition is organized by the Municipal Secretary of Sport and Leisure (Smel) and takes place at the Agostinho Cavasotto Gymnasium.
Group A has undefeated leader and fierce fight for the last spot
In Group A, the highlight is Xis Dubom, who won the four games he played and leads with 12 points. Another team that is already in the quarterfinals is UJR/Feevale/Banrisul, which occupies the second position with 9 points. The team applied a resounding 7×1 defeat to Resenha, who is in third place with 6 points.
The last place in the group is being disputed by three teams that add 3 points each: Defensor, Raça and Real Madruga. The Defender has an advantage in goal difference and occupies the fourth position. The team won Race by 6×5 in the last round. Raça, in turn, had the result of the match against Real Madruga for the second round changed due to an irregularity in the registration of an athlete. With that, the team lost the three points it had won and dropped to fifth place. Real Madruga kept the game’s points and climbed to sixth place.
Group B has a triple draw in the fight for the classification
In Group B, the situation is more balanced. Two teams are already classified: Boêmios and Madelusa, who share the leadership with 9 points each. Boêmios got the better of the direct confrontation between the two teams and won by 5×4 last Thursday, the 13th. It was Madelusa’s first defeat in the competition.
