The rural communities of Canela are preparing for a special event: the 29th Festa Colonial. This year, the party will take place again in the structure set up in Praça João Corrêa, attracting local farmers and producers. In the late afternoon of Friday, July 14th, the stands will open to the public.
During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to taste a variety of rural delicacies, such as creamy sweets, jellies, chimias, breads and freshly baked cakes. In addition, they will be able to take home the famous potato dumplings, cassava dumplings and sausage bread, which were the great successes of last year’s party.
The main objective of Festa Colonial is to integrate the rural community with tourism, promoting not only income generation, but also presenting the work, culture and gastronomy of local producers. The Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Gilmar Ferreira, highlights the importance of this event to strengthen ties between the community and visitors.
Throughout the party, Queen Tainara Oliveira and Princesses Larissa Machado, Vitória Rodrigues and Gabrieli Poletti will be interacting with the public and participating in the artistic program. Three shows are scheduled for the Winter Season: Os Montanari on Saturday, July 15th; Banda Cavalinho on the 22nd of July; and Banda Rainha Musical on July 29th.
The official opening of the event will take place on Saturday, July 15, at 6 pm, with the presence of authorities and guests. Before the show, the public will have the opportunity to witness this special moment.
The 29th Colonial Party will take place from the 14th to the 30th of July, from 10am to 10pm, at Praça João Corrêa, and admission will be free. The event is held by the City of Canela, through the Department of Tourism and Culture, in cooperation with the Department of Works, Emater and the Union of Rural Workers. It is a unique opportunity to experience the local rural culture and enjoy moments of fun and traditional flavors of the region.
