A day of celebration and reflection
On July 25th, the Municipal Secretariat of Culture (SMC), through the Centro de Cultura Dr. Henrique Ordovás Filho, will promote a special celebration in Caxias do Sul, in commemoration of the World Day of Culture and Peace. The event will start at 9 am, with an outdoor ceremony, followed by the raising of the flag alluding to the date. It will be a moment of encounter and reflection for the audience, who will be able to participate in activities with Stéfani Chaves Bicca, Holistic Therapeutics and Facilitator of the law of time, and Mariana Dosso Valsecchi, therapist and student of the Sincronário for 20 years, as well as facilitator of experiences shamanic.
A symbol of protection and recognition
The World Day of Culture and Peace was proposed by Russian Nicholas Roerich, and its symbol is the Flag of Peace, also designed by him. This flag represents the protection of cultural, educational, scientific institutions and historic monuments around the world. During the ceremony, the flag will be hoisted in honor of the date, and a special person will be recognized for his important role in the community of Caxias do Sul: Márcia Grisa Paim.
Márcia Grisa Paim: an inspiring figure
Márcia Grisa Paim is a prominent cultural and social agent in Caxias do Sul. With years of experience in the entertainment field, she has dedicated herself during the pandemic to helping professionals in one of the sectors most affected by the restrictions of COVID-19. In 2020 and 2021, she organized live broadcasts on social media to raise donations and promoted drive-through campaigns to collect food, medicine and hygiene products, offering support and hope to artists and professionals in the field.
In addition, Márcia currently leads the “Schroeber Project”, an initiative that distributes food and clothing to homeless people. She also participates in Brechó Elo do Bem, which raises funds for campaigns by the Municipal Health Secretariat (SMC) and purchases of basic food baskets.

Culture and Peace Day was included in the municipal calendar in 2009, after the approval of Bill No. 157/2009. Since 2008, this date has been celebrated at the Centro Municipal de Cultura Dr. Henrique Ordovás, due to the thematic connection with the activities promoted in this space. Every year, the Caxias do Sul community gathers at this significant event to value culture and reflect on the importance of peace in our lives.
