The partnership between Converse and London fashion brand A-COLD-WALL* brings an updated and functional version of the Chuck 70, embodying Samuel Ross’ conceptual vision. Since launching the first collection together at London Fashion Week in 2019, Ross has continued to work to bring new versions signed by both brands.
As an expert in overlays, the designer has introduced the aesthetic hallmarks of A-COLD-WALL* into Converse’s key innovations such as comfort, sustainability and utility. This edition of the Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Chuck 70 is inspired by work and emphasizes utility, offering an easy, stylish look that cuts down on time spent choosing outfits.
Multi-instrumentalist musician Takuya Nakamura is showcasing the collection on behalf of Converse and A-COLD-WALL*. His experimental and disruptive art synergizes with the collaboration of brands, combining analogue and digital instruments to create an innovative sound. Nakamura is known for playing the trumpet in live electronic sets, mixing musical genres such as techno, reggae, dub, drum and bass and classical. He has produced remixes for renowned artists including Quincy Jones, Wu-Tang Clan, Lee Scratch Perry and ASAP Rocky.
The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Chuck 70 is a revolutionary take on the urban style of the Chuck 70 Ox that is a key part of the brand’s origins. The shoe combines a waxed canvas upper with layered translucent details, delivering minimalist style and a look that evokes age-related oxidation in a vintage, worn-out aesthetic that’s characteristic of classic Chucks. Timeless Converse elements are combined in this release, such as the famous plaque on the rear of the shoe that displays the model and brand logo.
The Converse x A-COLD-WALL* Chuck 70 is available in navy blue and green.
