Porto Alegre is getting ready for a historic event that celebrates the 300th anniversary of Cantata 147, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Renowned Austrian opera singer Norbert Steidl will be one of the soloists in this commemorative concert, which will take place in the iconic Basilica N. Sra. Das Dores on July 18th at 8pm.

Promoted by the Bach Society of Brazil, the concert seeks to recreate the original experience of the work “Jesus, Alegria dos Homens”, with instruments from the baroque period and the unique acoustics of a church. In addition to Norbert Steidl, the event will feature some of today’s leading Bach specialists.
The talent of Norbert Steidl
Norbert Steidl, renowned baritone and singing teacher, lives in Brazil and has international recognition. He has had the opportunity to work with renowned conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Josef Wallnig, Yoram David, Luís Otávio Santos, Emanuele Baldini and Abel Rocha.

About Norbert Steidl
With international experience, opera singer Norbert Steidl graduated from Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Throughout his career he has participated in several Music Festivals and has performed over a thousand performances around the world. Its timbre is baritone, which is between tenor and bass. He currently lives in Curitiba where he also works as a private singing teacher.
