A woman who did not know she was pregnant gave birth to twins in Inhumas, in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia. According to the girls’ father, Roberto Carlos da Silva, after the birth of little Vivian inside the bathroom, little Vitória ended up being born in an unusual way: inside the toilet, without her mother noticing.
“One was already born. The mother was in the bathroom, on the toilet, when she came out, she realized that she had another child ”, explained the captain of the Fire Department, Ailton Pinheiro de Araújo.
The case took place on Thursday (6), in the Pedrinhas Sector. After the birth, Érika Santos, the mother of the girls, and her daughters were taken to the hospital. According to information from the girls’ father this Sunday afternoon (9), the woman and little Vivian are doing well and are hospitalized at the Maternidade Nascer Cidadão. Little Vitória is in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Maternidade e Hospital São Judas Tadeu, so that she can gain weight.
“She needs to gain at least 800 grams to be discharged, her health status is regular and she is eating well”, he added.
The girls’ father, Roberto Carlos da Silva, said their birth was a surprise.
“We didn’t know about the pregnancy. My wife was menstruating normally, taking birth control and we saw no difference in her body. She also didn’t complain or anything,” she explained.

Vivian and Vitória’s father said that, at the time of labor, his wife was alone with his 5-year-old son. According to firefighters, the woman was initially rescued by employees of the Inhumas City Hall. Upon arriving at the scene, the military provided the first service to the baby who had already been born.
It was only then, when the woman came out of the toilet, that it was realized that the other girl had been born.
“It was two girls. The staff noticed [a bebê dentro do vaso] and took her away. She still wasn’t breathing. They did the stimulus and she started to cry.”described.
Roberto also explained that, despite the surprise, he was very happy with the birth of his daughters. As they were unaware of the pregnancy, the man explains that there was nothing prepared to receive the girls. However, he explains that he has received a lot of donations and help since they were born.
“Thank God there are many people who are helping us with donations of clothes, carts”, he added.
