Syngenta, a Swiss multinational with Chinese capital, leader in the development of technologies for the agricultural market in the world, announced this Monday (07/03) the acquisition of Feltrin Sementes, a company from Farroupil that is a reference in vegetable seeds in South America . The transaction, whose value was not disclosed, involved the purchase of 100% of the company’s shares, which has units in Caxias do Sul, Jaguariúna (SP), Janaúba (MG) and in Argentina.
The negotiation was conducted by Dupont Spiller Fadanelli Advogados (DSF), from Caxias do Sul, together with Itaú BBA. Due to the size of the deal, approval was required from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), a federal agency that is part of the Brazilian System for the Defense of Competition. Employees are already being notified. The company’s management will continue to be led by Edimilson Bagattini.
According to José Fadanelli, lawyer and partner at DSF Advogados, a negotiation in these terms and volume is always a welcome challenge. “In transactions of this type, the important thing is to guarantee the legal security of the business, while seeking alignment between the interests of the buyer and the seller, generating value for all those involved”, he reinforces.
With the acquisition of Feltrin Sementes, Syngenta expands its presence in Brazil and South America, offering solutions and specialized support for farmers, especially in seeds, crop protection and digital services. The company is present in more than 100 countries and its mission is to accelerate innovation for sustainable agriculture.
