The Centenary Hospital of São Leopoldo received this Monday, July 3, a donation of gynecological equipment from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos). The delivery was made by the rector of Unisinos, Father Marcelo Fernandes de Aquino, to the president of the Hospital Centenário Foundation, Nestor Schwertner.
The donated equipment is two hysteroscopes, two pressure clamps and two coagulation electrodes. They are used to perform hysteroscopy, which are tests that allow you to view and study the inside of the uterus. These procedures are important for diagnosing and treating conditions such as polyps, fibroids, infections, and cancer.
In addition to benefiting hospital patients, the equipment will also be used by Unisinos students and professors who carry out practical activities at the institution. The donation is part of a contract between Fundação Hospital Centenário, Unisinos and the City of São Leopoldo, which aims to strengthen the integration between education and the public health service.
The president of Fundação Hospital Centenário thanked the partnership and pointed out that the equipment will contribute to improving the infrastructure and quality of care. “These are modern, high-tech equipment that will enable a more accurate diagnosis and more effective treatment for women,” said Schwertner.
