The municipal schools of Caxias do Sul will have a financial reinforcement to invest in the recovery and renovation of their physical spaces and equipment. About R$ 1.2 million were allocated by the Municipality for works and the purchase of school furniture, toys and recreational materials. The amount comes from a parliamentary amendment by federal deputy Denise Pessôa, who delivered the letter to Mayor Adiló Didomenico this Monday morning (3).
The intention is to benefit as many schools as possible, among the 83 Municipal Elementary Schools (EMEFs) and the 48 Early Childhood Education Schools (EEIs). The deputy has already presented a list of institutions that could receive the resources, but the definition will depend on technical criteria.
Mayor Adiló Didomenico thanked the parliamentarian for her initiative and highlighted the importance of investment for the municipal education network. “It is a sum that arrives at a good time and will be of great value for us to recover part of the infrastructure of our municipal education network, at a time when the municipality is experiencing serious financial difficulties”, he said.
The municipal secretary of Education, Sandra Negrini, explained that the works will be carried out according to the conditions, viability and urgency of each school. She also suggested that the municipal secretary of Sport and Leisure (SMEL) and the Neighborhood Residents Associations (AMOBs) be involved in the process. “It is necessary to assess which schools already have a better prepared structure to receive the improvements and which still require qualification, such as bases and slabs, for example”, she said.
The delivery of the amendment was also accompanied by councilors Lucas Caregnato and Rose Frigeri.
