Grupo Carrefour Brasil, the largest retailer and private employer in the country, opened seven new Carrefour hypermarkets in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Among them, two stores are located in the city of Porto Alegre, while the others are located in Pelotas, Cachoeirinha, São Leopoldo, Viamão and Esteio.
These new ventures result from the conversion of BIG stores to the Carrefour banner and are part of the company’s ambitious expansion plan, intensified since the integration with the BIG Group in the second half of 2022.
Carrefour hypermarkets, with a stock of approximately 36,000 products, aim to meet all consumer needs. In addition, they bring the main attributes of the Carrefour brand, such as quality and fresh products.
At the butcher shop, customers find special cuts prepared on the spot, along with a wide selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, valuing regional production. In addition, special sections such as Healthy, Build your Bar, Perfumery and Baby World allow customers to find everything they need in a single location.
The fishmonger, present at the units in Porto Alegre, Pelotas, Cachoeirinha and São Leopoldo, offers a wide variety of fresh and saltwater fish, which arrive daily at the stores. In addition, customers have cleaning services, pre-treated fish and self-service options.
The stores also offer Carrefour’s own brands, recognized for offering quality products at prices up to 30% cheaper. Among the products available, fruit, rice, milk, olive oil, coconut oil (Carrefour) and tomato sauce (Carrefour Bio) stand out; in addition to a variety of meats with special cuts (Carrefour Selection), tilapia, shrimp, non-food items for personal hygiene, cleaning and the Companino line aimed at pets.
Consumers also find payment solutions through the Carrefour Card, benefits with the Meu Carrefour APP and the possibility to buy how and where they want through e-commerce.
With the integration into the BIG Group, the company is now within a radius of 5 km of 50% of the population, and the expansion and conversion work throughout Brazil reinforces the company’s commitment and dedication to being ever closer to end consumers , generating employment opportunities and benefits for all audiences.
