The Attivi Integral, the first electric bus with a 100% national chassis and bodywork, starts to run in Curitiba and Porto Alegre this week. The model, developed by Marcopolo, is part of a batch of 130 vehicles that will be tested in various cities across the country.
In Curitiba, the bus will operate on the Interbairros II line, which serves around 65,000 people a day, for a period of 30 days. The test will serve as the basis for bidding for the first electric buses in the capital of Paraná, scheduled for 2024.
In Porto Alegre, the vehicle will be used to transport participants of the 4th Gaucho Forum of Secretaries and Directors of Urban Mobility and the XII General Meeting of the Qualionibus Benchmarking Group, which will take place on June 29th and 30th at Instituto Caldeira and Hotel Master .
According to Ricardo Portolan, director of Marcopolo, Attivi Integral is an innovative solution that combines Brazilian technology and engineering with the brand’s experience and reliability. “The Attivi Integral is a model that relies on the application of national technology and the knowledge of Brazilian engineering, without leaving aside the market expertise of Marcopolo’s seven decades of operation, reproducing safety and reliability”, he says.
