An 11-year-old boy died of bacterial meningitis caused by streptococcus pneumoniae, known as pneumococcal meningitis, early this Tuesday (27) in Matão (SP).
Luiz Eduardo Vital Bernardo had been hospitalized for ten days and was intubated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hospital Carlos Fernando Malzoni.

The first symptoms presented by the boy were earache, headache and vomiting. The boy’s family posted on social media asking for prayers for the boy’s health.
g1 questioned the City of Matão about what measures will be taken after the case of Luiz Bernardo and had no response until the publication of this report.
The g1 also looked for the Health Department of the State of São Paulo and awaits return.
