PUMA and LA-based brand PLEASURES are kicking off their new partnership by introducing Velophasis, a shoe that reflects the visual style of the 2000s. This collaboration combines PLEASURES’ knowledge of the subcultural codes present in music with what is the latest in PUMA’s retro-futuristic sneakers. The model will be available in Brazil from the 24/06.
The Velophasis had its first version released in January, featuring an exaggerated shape and being manufactured with a mixture of technical and high-performance materials. Now, the model has been given a personalized touch through a color overlay dyeing process, carried out by PLEASURES, which has left it completely purple. This color treatment extends down to the sole of the shoe, giving it a unique distressed look.
“We are very happy to collaborate with PLEASURES, sharing and merging our perspectives and points of view. We admire PLEASURES’ ability to bring references and diverse experiences. With this new collaboration, the Velophasis takes on a completely new look with this color-over-dyeing effect, inspired by DIY (DIY) style,” celebrates Sarah Mayer, Head of Product Management at PUMA Sportstyle.
Color-over-dye dyeing wraps the entire shoe, from the laces to the sole, giving the collaboration a DIY look. This new version of the Velophasis also features a sheer fabric dyed purple, with the PLEASURES logo printed in black.
“This is just the beginning of a beautiful partnership. PUMA has an incredible history, we can’t wait to bring the PLEASURES aesthetic into a new world,” said Alex James, co-founder and director of PLEASURES.
