And the Porto Alegre and Metropolitan Region Convention & Visitors Bureau (POACVB) will be present, promoting Porto Alegre as a destination for business tourism and events. The entity will be at the stand in Brazil, prepared by EMBRATUR.
POACVB entered Porto Alegre in the public notice launched by EMBRATUR in April this year, being one of the 13 selected among the 40 entries. This action aims to highlight the attractions of the capital for buyers who will be present at FIEXPO.
During the event, travel agencies, corporate or event companies, tour operators, associations, promoters and event organizers will participate in business roundtables, lunches and strategic meetings with the destinations present at the fair.
“We have about 30 confirmed meetings for FIEXPO, in addition to participating in a lunch promoted by EMBRATUR for all buyers present, where we will present strategic material that includes videos developed by our associates and by the City Hall of Porto Alegre, adapted by us” , says POACVB president Adriane Hilbig, who is in Panama together with Commercial Manager Vinicius Pujol.
Currently, Porto Alegre is a reference in business tourism, with spaces that cater to all types of desired events. The FIERGS Events Center is a well-planned venue, with a theater for over 1,700 people and modular spaces, capable of hosting large events with up to 10,000 people, fairs with over 30,000 participants and concerts with over 40,000 spectators . The PUC-RS Events Center has a modern theater with capacity for more than 1,600 people, spacious, versatile and modular rooms, space for fairs with more than 7,000 people, 2,500 of which are seated, in addition to the entire infrastructure of more than 55 hectares of the campus, which has a hospital complex, science and technology museum, innovation hub (Tecnopuc) and sports park.
In addition to the main event centers, Porto Alegre also has a hotel chain accustomed to welcoming business tourists, including more than six international brands, such as the Hilton Porto Alegre, located in the Moinhos de Vento neighborhood, which hosted several corporate and technoscientific events. in its event rooms, being the biggest collector of Room Tax.
