Shocking images recorded by a companion of an elderly woman at the Emergency Room (PA) in Penha, on the North Coast of Santa Catarina, revealed a visibly drunk doctor during patient care last Sunday (18). The professional presented agitated behavior and difficulty in registering medical records.
After the complaint, the Health Department issued a note stating that the doctor in question had started his work at the unit less than a month ago and that he was immediately removed from his duties.
Patients reported that the doctor was drunk, but the city hall pointed out that, although visibly altered, it was not possible to specify which substance the professional had ingested.
The Regional Council of Medicine (CRM) and the Regional Council of Nursing (Coren) were notified about the doctor’s behavior, so that appropriate measures can be taken against the professional and the team, in addition to the immediate registration of an Occurrence Bulletin.
