The comedy Minha Vida em Mars has been a great success, attracting more than 300 thousand spectators to the theater and conquering more than 5 million spectators in the cinema version. Now, the show is back in Rio Grande do Sul.
With text and interpretation by Mônica Martelli, the show will have a single performance on July 27th, at Teatro Feevale, in Novo Hamburgo, and sessions on the 28th and 29th of the same month, at the PUCRS Hall of Acts, in Porto Alegre, always at 21:00. Tickets for Vale dos Sinos are available on blueticket, and for the capital of Rio Grande do Sul on ticketsforfun.
Minha Vida on Mars tells the story of Fernanda, a woman who has been married for eight years and is going through a crisis in her marriage. The protagonist seeks to find solutions to everyday difficulties, such as the lack of sexual desire, the accumulation of resentments and frustrated expectations.
Mônica explains that the character fights against the fear of separation, loneliness, giving new meaning to her life and, above all, the stigma of getting divorced at 45 in a sexist society that does not allow women to age.
Inspired by her own experiences, Mônica brings to the theater a humorous monologue that provokes laughter and makes men and women reflect. Thus, the actress stands out as one of the Brazilian authors who best portray modern female behavior. Is it possible to rekindle the passion for her husband? Or is the solution to separate? The comedy also addresses themes such as betrayal, sexism, the double journey of women and raising children.
My Life on Mars is written with the premise that happiness is paramount. Since its debut in 2017, the show has toured several Brazilian cities, always with sold-out sessions, and received five award nominations.
In addition, the play inspired the film of the same name, which marks Mônica’s last performance alongside her friend Paulo Gustavo (1978-2021). As in theater and television, the protagonist was directed by her sister, Susana Garcia, celebrating once again the success of this partnership.
