On June 22, at 6 pm, Pelotas residents will have the opportunity to delve into the fascinating history of the gaucho symbol Laçador and his creator, Caringi. The special screening of the film “Monumental! The Restoration of a Symbol” promises to thrill viewers with an engaging and revealing narrative. The event will be held at the city’s Public Library, located at Praça Coronel Pedro Osório, nº103, downtown, and promises to captivate all those present.
The production of the film represents a milestone for Pelotas and the region, allowing residents to better understand the history of Caringi and its iconic monument. Antonella Caringi de Aquino, granddaughter of the renowned artist, expressed the importance of the film for the city: “The film is extremely beautiful and touched me deeply, as it brings greater visibility to Caringi’s legacy, especially in his hometown. Without a doubt, it will be a historic rescue, ”she said with emotion.
The work is the result of a collaboration between the Associação Sul-Riograndense da Construção Civil and Sinduscon-RS, through the Projeto Construção Cultural – Resgate do Patrimônio Histórico, with the valuable sponsorship of Gerdau and funding from the Pro-culture of the Secretary of State of the Culture of Rio Grande do Sul.
