The 21st edition of Pousada de Carreteiros will take place this weekend, June 3rd and 4th, in the Costa do Ipiranga district. The event, organized by CTG Estância do Gravatá and with the support of Gravataí City Hall, through the Municipal Secretary of Culture, Sports and Leisure (SMCEL), will start on Saturday morning and will last until Sunday afternoon.
Carreteiros from all over Rio Grande do Sul will participate in the activities, which will have several attractions. The inn will be held at Estrada Henrique Closs, 5755, in front of the CTG Estância do Gravatá.
According to Leandro Ferreira, secretary of SMCEL, the event is a very important tradition in Gravataí. After two years of pause due to the pandemic, it was resumed last year. The inn is an activity of great value, as it portrays the past of the local culture. Its 21st edition is proof of that”, highlighted the secretary.
Pousada dos Carreteiros was created on the initiative of residents of the Costa do Ipiranga district, who use carts as a means of transport to work in the fields and also to preserve the ancient profession of the gaucho settlers, in addition to celebrating traditional customs.
