10 years ago, designer Vanessa Abbud opened her atelier in São Paulo with the aim of creating custom-made dresses, using the best fabrics, impeccable finishes, striking colors and a contemporary cut. Quickly, her models began to be seen at the most exclusive parties in the country. Vanessa has always dreamed of creating a ready-to-wear collection and had the opportunity to make this project a reality by collaborating with Le Lis, a brand she has been a customer of since she was a teenager.
She comments: “For a long time now I have imagined my clothes ready on the racks, with customers choosing and trying them on directly in the fitting room. Doing this collaboration with Le Lis, a brand that I admire and that has always been present in my life and that of so many people, has everything to work out – and it did!”, she celebrates.
The Le Lis + Vanessa Abbud Atelier collection will be launched on May 30th, with an event at Le Lis at Shopping Iguatemi, followed by a show at Le Lis at Flamboyant Shopping, in Goiânia, on June 1st.
The result of a year of work, the collection combines the striking traits of the designer’s DNA – layers, cutouts, impeccable cuts, the careful selection of the best materials, the mix of fabrics, ample ruffles and volumes – with the contemporary and timeless style of Le Lis. “My biggest challenge was translating the language of the atelier into ready-made party dresses, without losing the attention to detail and care that are characteristic of bespoke work,” says Vanessa.
The intense creative exchange between the two brands resulted in 10 models, with a vibrant and cheerful color palette, including red, orange and lime green. Noble fabrics such as silk and crepe translate the high sophistication of the collection.
Textures, a strong signature of Vanessa Abbud Atelier, could not be left out, valuing the fluidity that permeates the creations. As for the silhouette, there are drapes, ruffles, asymmetrical cutouts, ample volumes, strapless models, one-shoulder models and deep necklines. “I wanted to bring everything that marks the 10-year history of the Vanessa Abbud Atelier to the style of Le Lis. It’s amazing to be able to celebrate this special moment in such a wonderful collaboration”, sums up the designer.
