The time when lingerie was hidden under clothes is over. In recent years, these pieces have become key elements in the composition of looks and, more and more, new styles and designs are being created to provide versatility in everyday life.
Between bras, bodysuits, pajamas and corsets, it is possible to create different types of productions that offer a sexy, feminine and, at the same time, fashion aesthetic. With that in mind, we invited Mariana Dijkstra, Loungerie’s stylist, to give tips on how to combine underwear in authentic and personalized looks for everyday appointments.
tailoring
Nothing is more elegant and sophisticated than combining lingerie with tailoring. Complementing a look of dress pants and a blazer with plain or lacy bras brings seriousness, while providing a fun and youthful proposal, shaping the silhouette. A good option is to mix colors between the pieces to highlight the lingerie or create a more sober look in black and white.
Nightgown
It’s no wonder that sweaters are increasingly diversified in terms of modeling, finishes and fabrics. The “Slip Dress” trend, which consists of wearing nightgowns on a daily basis, has conquered the streets as an alternative to conventional dresses.
Pieces in satin or lace bring delicacy to the proposal, in addition to fluidity to the look. Sweaters are versatile and can be combined with overlays of blazers or shirts, as well as different footwear options, such as boots and sandals. They become a joker piece for several occasions.
Corset
If the idea is to bring sensuality and impact, nothing better than using a corset in the composition of the look. Depending on the proposal, they can convey different styles. When worn over shirts or T-shirts, like the famous corsets, they add sophistication and attract attention. If used alone, they make the outfit lighter and more cheerful. They are perfect as a complement to patterned trousers or skirts, as their versatility allows them to balance the combination in the right way.
Pajamas
Wearing sleepwear everyday is a fun and creative way to make your look more comfortable. Many personalities have already joined this trend, popularizing the use of pajamas in everyday life. A good choice are monochromatic silk sets, which add elegance to the production.
Here, the tip is to apply style tricks to further elevate the look’s aesthetics, such as tucking the shirt inside the pants, adding belts that enhance the colors and modeling of the pieces, and selecting maximalist accessories, such as earrings or necklaces, to make the look super stylish.
Body
With a variety of cuts and details, bodysuits are wildcard pieces that can be combined with shorts, tailored pants, jeans and skirts, that is, practically on any occasion. Also, because they fit the body, it’s a great idea to complement the look with high-waisted pieces for a more modern style.
Another tip is to take advantage of the color block trend and add an overlay, like a blazer, for example, to convey more personality to the look.
