Registration for the 40th Rio Grande do Sul Handicraft Exhibition (Expoargs), which will take place simultaneously with Expointer, will begin this Tuesday, May 23rd. The largest handicraft fair in Rio Grande do Sul will be held from August 26th to September 3rd, at Assis Brasil Exhibition Park, in Esteio.
The event, organized by the Programa Gaúcho do Artesanato (PGA), will have 118 stands for the exhibition and sale of handicraft products. The announcement containing all the necessary information is available on the Portal do Artesanato Gaúcho, and registrations can be made until June 4th.
Artisans who have the Artisan Card issued by the PGA, within the validity period, are able to register to promote and sell their pieces at Expoargs.
After the registration period, the screening process will begin, which will be in charge of an Evaluation and Screening Commission composed of three members appointed by the Coordination of the Gaucho Handicraft Program. This commission will evaluate the handcrafted products, the data informed in the registration form and the requested documents. To participate in the screening, the craftsman can choose the closest or most convenient municipality, according to the schedule presented in the public notice.
For artisans from Porto Alegre and the Metropolitan Region, the screening will take place at Casa do Artesão, in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, on June 15th. On the following day, June 16, artisans from the interior will be able to carry out the procedure in the same place, from 8am to 10am.
In the interior of the State, screenings will be carried out, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, in three different places: on June 6, at the FGTAS/Sine Passo Fundo Agency; on June 21, at the FGTAS/Sine Santa Maria Agency; and on June 24, at the FGTAS/Sine Santana do Livramento agency.
The preliminary list of pre-selected artisans, in ranking order, will be released on July 3rd. The final list will be announced on July 18th. All results of the selection stages will be published on the Portal do Artesanato Gaúcho.
