The University of Caxias do Sul, in partnership with the General Hospital and the Clinical Center of the UCS (CECLIN), is promoting the 2nd Gaucho Symposium on Sports Medicine, as part of the residency in Exercise and Sports Medicine offered by the institution. The event has the support of the Gaúcha Society of Sports Medicine (SOGAMEDE) and aims to bring together professionals and students interested in the area.
The symposium will take place on the 23rd and 24th of June. On the first day, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, there will be a short course that will address the athlete’s functional assessment and a practical test of ergospirometry. On the second day, from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, there will be 19 lectures distributed over six round tables, addressing various topics related to Sports Medicine.
This event also marks the 20th anniversary of the Exercise and Sports Medicine service at UCS and represents an opportunity for participants to learn more about this multidisciplinary area, which is constantly growing. Professor Gabriel Lopes Amorim, coordinator of the Sports Medicine Residency Program at UCS and organizer of the Symposium, highlights the importance of the event for students and recent graduates who wish to specialize in this area.
The Symposium is aimed at students of Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nutrition, Physical Education and other professionals interested in the subject. Registration is open until June 23rd and everyone is invited to participate in this enriching and informative event.
