The Municipal Health Department (Semsad) of São Leopoldo once again offers the Mobile Pharmacy to the population. Now, the vehicle travels through different neighborhoods in front of basic health units, offering greater convenience to residents.
Fabiana Ribeiro, coordinator of the Mobile Pharmacy, highlighted the importance of bringing services to people. According to her, patients treated at basic health units (UBS) and at the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) already leave consultations with the opportunity to obtain their medication and start the appropriate treatment immediately.
The Mobile Pharmacy is an adapted vehicle that offers greater access to medicines, providing itinerant care with a variety of essential medicines, such as antibiotics, prescription drugs and insulin. A pharmaceutical professional accompanies the service, ensuring adequate support.
In order to receive the medication, the patient must present the Unified Health System Card (SUS) and an updated medical prescription.
