The “Villa Nênê Exhibition: the city, environment and industrialization” was inaugurated in Canoas this Wednesday, the 17th. The exhibition is open to the public at Casa dos Rosa, located downtown, from Monday to Friday, from 10 am at 5 pm. This event marks the participation of the Secretary of Culture of Canoas in the National Week of Museums.
During the opening, Leila Silveira, artist and cultural producer, expressed her enthusiasm: “Here we have an immense knowledge of the city. I have lived in Canoas for years and I am passionate about the history of its development. It’s exciting and wonderful.” Tutti Gregianin, also a cultural producer and filmmaker, was also present and highlighted the importance of the initiative, especially the process of restoring the house: “It is very interesting that this process of historical dissemination of the house begins. This is good for the population to know this history that coincides with the industrialization of Canoas”.
According to historian Airan Milititsky Aguiar, from the Secretariat of Culture of Canoas, the exhibition addresses the theme of sustainability, in line with the Brazilian Institute of Museums. “We linked urbanization and industrialization with the importance of Villa Nênê in this process”, he explained.
The exhibition will remain at Casa dos Rosa until the completion of the restoration work on Villa Nênê, located in the Marechal Rondon neighborhood, without a defined end date. The municipal secretary of Culture, Eliezer Pacheco, pointed out that this exhibition, in celebration of the National Museum Week, rescues important moments in the urbanization process of Canoas and the transformations that took place in Villa Nênê.
