STIHL held the graduation ceremony for the second group of the STIHL Dual Technical Course on Mechatronics, with the graduation of 12 employees. This exclusive training was developed by the company itself in partnership with specialists from STIHL, SENAI-RS and the Brazil-Germany Chamber (AHK).
Started in 2017, the course is free and its main objective is to provide qualified training to participants, with real experiences of the work routine of a professional in the mechatronics segment. The course curriculum follows a plan with 70% practical classes and 30% theoretical content, following the model used by the organization’s German headquarters.
In Brazil, there is no training similar to that offered by STIHL. In addition to the qualitative results, the Dual Formation also presents significant numerical results, such as the savings obtained through the solutions found by the technicians for internal problems.
“The qualification of the workforce is a challenge in the current market. It is not enough just to hire distinguished professionals, it is necessary to update them to achieve STIHL’s objectives, which include an emphasis on innovation, digitization aimed at Industry 4.0, productivity and quality in processes. Therefore, offering differentiated training to our professionals who are already immersed in the company’s organizational culture allows us to raise the level of our technical staff and, consequently, increase our competitiveness on the global stage”, said Arno Tomasini, Vice President of Operations.
The course has a duration of three years and a total workload of more than 5,200 hours. Trained employees were selected through a selection process that included a test of basic knowledge (Portuguese, mathematics, logic and English), group dynamics and individual interview.
To participate in the process, candidates needed to have at least two years of experience in the company and be working in one of the initial production, logistics or quality positions.
