BRASCRS, the congress that represents the ophthalmology sector, returns to São Paulo with more interactivity and international prestige. The Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology (CBO) points to the increase in cases of eye diseases in children and adolescents, as well as the continuity of diseases that affect the elderly, such as cataracts, diagnosed in about 25% of Brazilians over 50 years old.
The event is organized by ABCCR (Brazilian Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery) and takes place from May 24th to 27th, at the Transamérica Expo Center, in São Paulo. For four days, around four thousand people will have the opportunity to interact with important companies in the sector, in addition to participating in lectures and courses given by specialists from different countries.
The edition will feature more than 55 international guests, such as Ike Ahmed, professor at the University of Toronto and Director of Glaucoma and Advanced Anterior Surgical (GAASS), Dan Reinstein, medical director and founder of the London Vision Clinic, and Gerardo Valvecchia, director of the Center de Olhos Quilmes in Argentina, among others.
BRASCRS 2023 promises to be an interactive conference rich in shared learning among professionals in the areas of cataract, refractive surgery and other subspecialties such as glaucoma and the cornea. With 21 simultaneous rooms, more than 50 practical courses, around 500 national and international speakers, and 50 exhibitors presenting new technologies, the expectation is that it will be an up-to-date and quality event.
Among the highlights of this edition are special sessions, such as “Cinema 3D”, which shows surgeries with more reality, and sessions with live surgeries. Ophthalmologists interested in participating in BRASCRS 2023 can register at the event’s secretariat during May 24th and 27th.
