On May 17th, Santa Maria will celebrate its 165th anniversary and, in commemoration of the date, the City Hall will promote another edition of Viva Santa Maria. Like the successful Calourada this year, the event will take place at the Gare, from 10am to 7pm, with a similar structure.
In honor of the city, the organization will highlight local artists, who will perform throughout the day, including the Orquestra Sinfônica de Santa Maria with Beto Pires, Juliana Pires and Matheus Lopes, the group Atoque and the band Vera Loca, which will close the activities.
Produced in collaboration with several secretariats, Viva Santa Maria will also offer flu vaccinations, a kids space, a food court with food trucks and breweries, a traffic school and physical activities.
The complete program is still being prepared and will be finalized in the next few days, when the selection of bands and theater groups will be completed. According to Cássio Corbellini, superintendent of Culture, five bands and three artistic interventions will be selected to highlight the cultural production of Santa Maria.
“The Viva Santa Maria Public Notice will select and hire musical shows and three artistic interventions involving theater and/or circus, for children. The public notice is divided into two stages, the first, which was completed on May 4, was registration, in which cultural producers and/or artists are accredited by expressing their interest in participating in the selection. The second stage is the selection of proposals that will be evaluated and chosen by a judging commission”, he explains.
Viva Santa Maria is organized by the Municipality of Santa Maria, sponsored by Corsan.
