The Municipal Department of Transit, Transport and Mobility (SMTTM) of Caxias do Sul announced that as of Wednesday, 05/10, users of urban public transport will have access to the Caxias Urbano Returnable card, a new modality developed especially for those who do not wish to register their CPF with the card. With the use of the returnable card, the user can acquire it by consignment and, at the end of the credits, return it for reversal of the amount paid.
The layout of the new card is similar to that of the Caxias Urbano card, with the inversion of colors and predominant shades of red. The card also features a continuous cycle circle that indicates it is returnable. The first copy of the card can be requested at Central Caxias Urbano for R$ 6.10, and after purchase, the user can top up at the EPIs Floresta and Imigrante counters, in addition to other accredited points. In case of requests for reimbursement of the value of the hull of the card, the user must do so directly at Central Caxias Urbano.
Among the main advantages, in addition to the option of not registering the CPF, the card has the potential to increase the rate of use of cards as a means of payment in the public transport system, increasing user safety. Using the Caxias Urbano card also makes the boarding process faster, as around 85% of the system’s users use cards.
