Ingredients:
Gnocchi
500 g boiled and mashed potatoes
1 teaspoon salt
grated nutmeg to taste
1 beaten egg
half a cup of wheat flour
200 g mozzarella cheese cut into small cubes
Sauce
2 cans of Sardines in COCONUT OIL (125 g each)
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 small chopped onion
3 minced garlic cloves
10 diced seedless ripe tomatoes
1 teaspoon salt
black pepper to taste
fresh basil leaves to taste
Preparation mode:
Gnocchi
In a bowl place the potatoes, salt, nutmeg, egg, flour and mix well.
With a spoon portion small portions of dough, fill each portion with a piece of mozzarella and shape into balls. Reserve.
Cook the gnocchi in boiling water seasoned with salt until they rise to the surface, remove them with a slotted spoon and place them in an ovenproof dish. Repeat the process until you finish the dough. Reserve in a warm place.
Sauce
Drain and remove the bones from the sardines. Reserve. In a pan, heat the oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.
