The Bruna Pelison dance school, from São Leopoldo, will represent the city in international dance festivals. In June, the school will be at the 3rd Porto Alegre International Dance Festival (FIDPOA) and, within the festival’s programming, will participate in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Brazil selection, with ballerina Shamira Lopes, just 9 years old.
The school’s principal, Bruna Pelison, emphasizes the importance of the school’s participation in the selective, since it is the first time that a school in the municipality participates in the biggest international dance competition.
In addition, the school had other dancers selected to participate in the International Festival of Goiás and the International Festival of Espírito Santo. The selections were carried out by video, and the school recently received the YAGP results.
Pelison celebrates the achievements of the school, which has already received several awards in regional and international competitions, including the title of Best Jazz School 2022 by the National Institute of Research and Quality Ltda. The director highlights the discipline and talent of the dancers, who dedicate more than four hours a day, from Monday to Saturday, to classes and rehearsals.
She also highlights the importance of participation in international competitions for dancers looking to pursue a professional career in dance, as this can provide worldwide visibility and opportunities for scholarships and courses abroad.
