The Municipal Secretariat for Sports, Leisure and Youth (SMELJ) of Porto Alegre is offering a community football refereeing course, with 50 places available. Registration will be held in person at the SMELJ Football Unit, on June 5th and 6th.
The course, which lasts 40 hours and is completely free, will begin on June 6th. Interested parties must be at least 18 years old and present an identity document.
The objective of the course, according to SMELJ’s secretary, Débora Garcia, is to train male and female referees to work in competitions for children and adolescents organized by the SMELJ’s Soccer Unit, in addition to offering students practical experiences in soccer refereeing.
The theoretical part of the course will have six meetings on Tuesdays, while the theoretical-practical part will take place on a Saturday in June and the practical part will have six meetings on Saturdays, from August to December. More information can be obtained by calling (51) 3289-4884.
