The Cabinet of the First Lady of Bento Gonçalves started this Tuesday (2), the Warm Warm Campaign 2023-Share the heat. The launch took place in the Main Hall of the City Hall.
In 2022, more than 40,000 donations were collected for clothes, shoes and blankets that were delivered to warm the families that needed it most. Last year also marked the launch of the Central do Agasalho, a fixed space, next to the Finance Department, which provides year-round service. This year alone, 12,000 pieces have already been delivered.
The first lady of the municipality, Cláudia Remus, commented on this year’s campaign. “Since last year we have had a continuous warm clothing campaign, as with the Central do Agasalho all people who need a piece of clothing to wear can go to the space to pick it up. When we manage to help someone by removing the pain and the cold, it is already a success”.
Still according to the first lady, “when we donate anything, the one who receives the most is the one who is donating, because this act gives us immense well-being. That’s why we invite everyone who has pieces they don’t wear anymore to do a good deed and share warmth”.
Mayor Diogo Segabinazzi Siqueira also highlighted the importance of donating to spread warmth in winter. “For those who live on the street, it is much more complicated to get through these cold months. That’s why it’s extremely important for all of us to do our part. This is a joint effort, among all of us, that makes the difference”.
Still according to the mayor “it is a year-round campaign. In winter the children will need clothes and we just have to do the exercise of looking in the wardrobe what we are not wearing and sharing it with other people”.
