This Tuesday morning (2), the Bishop of the Diocese of Caxias do Sul, Dom José Gislon, assumed the presidency of the Board of Directors of the University of Caxias do Sul Foundation (FUCS), after being unanimously elected in March.
Dom José will have the responsibility of leading the FUCS during the 2023-2026 term, together with Cláudio Luiz Pessôa de Oliveira, representative of the City Hall of Caxias do Sul on the Council, who assumed the vice-presidency. The presidency and vice-presidency were previously occupied, respectively, by José Quadros dos Santos, representative of the Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services of Caxias do Sul – CIC Caxias, and Mauro Gilberto Bellini, by the Government of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
This is the first time that a representative of Mitra Diocesana has been elected president of FUCS, which is a charity providing social, community and philanthropic assistance, which maintains the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), the Technological Center of the University of Caxias do Sul ( CETEC), UCSfm Educative Radios and the General Hospital of Caxias do Sul (HG).
The Board of Directors, made up of representatives from the city of Caxias do Sul, the CIC, the State Government, Mitra, the Virvi Ramos Cultural and Scientific Association and the UCS, is responsible for evaluating the economic and financial performance of the maintained institutions, analyzing indicators, budget and determine the vision of the general strategic management of the institution.
