On May 10, at 7 pm, the awards ceremony for the projects selected for the seventh edition of the Dana Visual Arts Award will take place at the Quiosque da Cultura, in Gravataí. The project is an initiative of the Municipality of Gravataí, through the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, Sport and Leisure (SMCEL), financed by the company Dana and supported by the Sectorial Collegiate of Visual Arts of Rio Grande do Sul and by Sogil.
The Prize aims to select and reward six Visual Arts exhibitions, which will be displayed at the Quiosque da Cultura from June to December 2023, in different languages and forms of artistic expression.
The award will be divided into two categories: Local Territories, with a prize of R$ 4,000.00 per exhibition for artists residing in Gravataí, totaling four places, and Expanded Territories, with a prize of R$ 4,500.00 per exhibition, adding two more places for artists residing in other municipalities. This category seeks to promote cultural exchange between different regions and increase the recognition of the Award at the state level.
In addition to the aforementioned categories, there will be an extra prize for the exhibition with the highest number of visitors registered in the Quiosque da Cultura attendance book, in the amount of R$ 2,000.00, for the production of an artistic work that will be permanently displayed. In total, R$ 27,000 in prizes will be distributed by the company financing the project. The Dana Visual Arts Award is recognized throughout the state for its important representativeness and for promoting projects in the Visual Arts segment.
