This Sunday, April 30th, Praça da Biblioteca in São Leopoldo will be the setting for the Rock na Praça project, which will feature six local bands: Punkzilla, TVOC, Hematita, A Virgo, Bleff and Flanders 72.
The event starts at 2 pm, with the shows starting at 4 pm and has the support of the Municipal Secretariat for Culture and International Relations (Secult). In addition to the musical performances, there will also be a creative economy fair.
The Rock na Praça project, conceived and produced by Ricardo Varela, is an event that is about to complete 21 years in May and has become an intangible cultural heritage of the city of Esteio. Since last year, the project has become itinerant, covering the six cities where the train line from Porto Alegre to Novo Hamburgo passes. This will be the first edition in São Leopoldo and the expectation is that it will be the first of many.
Rock na Praça aims to enhance the authorial rock scene in São Leopoldo, focusing on the local scene. In addition to being an event open to the general public, the project provides contact between the artists, who are all from the city or have members who live in São Leopoldo.
