The Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS) of Caxias do Sul is holding a vaccination D-Day on Saturday (6) in all Basic Health Units (UBSs) from 9 am to 3 pm (except Parque Oásis, which is under construction).
The units will apply flu vaccines (Influenza) for priority groups (see below), routine doses for children and adolescents up to 14 years old and also reinforcement with the bivalent vaccine (against covid-19) for the groups contemplated (see below ).
In addition, seven UBSs will apply covid-19 vaccines for children (from six months to 11 years old): Cinquantenário, Cruzeiro, Desvio Rizzo, Eldorado, Esplanada, Reolon and Vila Ipê.
Covid-19 bivalent
Regarding reinforcement with the bivalent, the Municipal Health Department highlights that, on May 6, it will be available in all UBSs in the municipality. During the week, due to low demand, the application of this immunizer is concentrated in 18 units, to avoid missing doses.
All people aged 18 and over who have taken at least two doses of covid vaccines previously can take the booster with the bivalent. People aged 12 or over with comorbidities, with permanent disability or immunocompromised, as well as pregnant and puerperal women (women up to 45 days after childbirth) are also covered.
Gripe
Vaccination against flu in Caxias has reached, so far, 17% of the target public. The goal is to reach 90%. The 25th National Vaccination Campaign against Influenza (flu) continues until May 31. Priority groups are defined by the Ministry of Health.
People who need to take more than one vaccine can receive them on the same day, as there is no impediment.
