The 32nd edition of Festa da Colônia de Gramado will be a celebration of traditions and origins. The event will take place at Expogramado from April 27th to May 14th and will honor the culture of German, Italian and Portuguese immigrants.
With a wide range of gastronomy and a fair of colonial products, Festa da Colônia will feature performances by Bandinhas and Folkloric Groups on the main stage. The expectation is that 300,000 visitors will participate in the event over its 18 days.
ATTRACTIONS
The Festa da Colônia offers several attractions for visitors. The Clay Ovens are a highlight, with the daily preparation of cucas, breads and rolls with sausage by seven families from different locations in the interior of Gramado. The Café da Colônia presents an interior house that serves the authentic coffee of the colony, served by the Wolf Family of the Gambelo Line. Biers promise to be the meeting point with draft beer and the traditional potato dumpling, as well as pastries and other delicacies. Oma and Nonna’s Kitchens offer typical German and Italian cuisine with country stoves, served by families from Linha Bonita, Linha Nova, São Roque and Linha Ávila. Lunch or dinner costs BRL 50.00 per person and children between 6 and 10 years old pay BRL 25.00. The Colonial Products Fair is another separate attraction with several Agroindustries and families that provide more qualification in the presentation of products.
The Rural Games are another great attraction of the Festa da Colonia that attracts a large audience. Matches include men’s and women’s bocce games, canasta, 3 Sevens and the ’66’ card tournament.
The Trailer Parade is a traditional event that generates expectations for its beauty and originality. It takes place on the main avenue of the city with several carts and their beautiful teams of oxen driven by the settlers. The organization expects the participation of around 30 carts. The parades take place on two Saturdays, May 6th and 13th, at 4 pm, between Expogramado – where the event is held – to the center of Gramado along Avenida Borges de Medeiros.
The current Court of Festa da Colônia is made up of Queen Júlia Brezolla Fritsch of the Quilombo Line and Princesses Manuela Cavichion of the Furna Line and Ana Paula Thomazi of the Gambelo Line. In addition, parallel to the Festa da Colônia, the Fair Made in Gramado takes place at the Expogramado complex with more than 120 exhibitors.
Festa da Colônia is promoted by the Municipality of Gramado and carried out by the Municipal Tourism Authority – Gramadotur, Ministry of Culture, Federal Government, Brazil – Union and Reconstruction.
