São José do Hortêncio holds the 18th Cassava Festival on the 28th, 29th and 30th of April, and the 1st, 5th, 6th and 7th of May at the Municipal Park Leonardo Teodoro Arnhold.
The event starts on the 28th, at 7:30 pm, with a rock night. The official opening is on Saturday, the 29th, at 10am. Entrance on all days is free and parking costs R$ 10.00 per vehicle.
The 18th Festa do Aipim is organized by the City Hall of São José do Hortêncio and the Cultural Association of São José do Hortêncio. It has master sponsorship from Sicredi Pioneira, sponsorship from Banrisul, Schness Cervejaria, Dullius&Dullius Transport of Chemical Products, Energias da Natureza, Roda Mais Rede de Postos, Valle Vita, Madesa and CDL Estância Velha/Ivoti. The event is part of the official calendar of events in the Germanic Valley.
