The Scania Top Team 2022/2023, a global tournament only for employees in the service area of the brand’s dealer network, will meet the champion country this Friday (21), in Sweden.
Brazil is among the 12 best countries in the world. Representing the Americas, the Btech teams – the three-time national champion of the Gauchos from Casa Scania Brasdiesel, from Ijuí (RS), – and La Mudoneta, from Buenos Aires (Argentina), classified in the regional final, which was held in November in Argentina itself.
In all, the current edition had the participation of more than 70 countries and 8 thousand professionals. One of the objectives is to attract mechanics to the Scania network, a profession that is scarce in the market and that has hundreds of open positions throughout the country.
Top Team is a competition organized worldwide by Scania to promote technical competence with the objectives of development, training, appreciation and recognition, encouraging teamwork.
In Brazil, Scania Academy and the Brazilian Association of Scania Dealers (Assobrasc) contribute with the necessary support to professionals and in carrying out the steps.
The twelve teams that will dispute the title in Sweden, headquarters of Scania, represent the following countries: Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, New Zealand (current world champion), Sweden and Taiwan.
This Thursday (the 20th) there will be the semifinal with theoretical tests and practical stations. The top four teams will qualify. The Super Final will be on Friday (21) also with theoretical tests and practical stations. The winner will be the world champion.
Both in theoretical tests and in practical stations, participants face vehicle/component diagnostic challenges based on Scania’s technical literature, and assess technical competence, the ability to perform diagnoses and solve problems in the shortest possible time, always working as a team. The competition reproduces in a laboratory environment the conditions of the daily reality of Scania trucks, buses and engines.
Btech, which for the third consecutive time won a place in the world decision, is formed by general mechanic Marcelo Bueno and Neilson Goi Freitag, transmission mechanic, the only original three-time champions, and the debutants in the 2022/2023 edition of the Diorle da Silva tournament Legonde, general mechanic and team coach, Bruno Claudy Alves, electrician, Jardel Bealozourw Franco, engine mechanic, and John Maicon Fritz Noronha, technical consultant. Over the years, representatives won the 2014/2015, 2017/2018 and 2022/2023 editions.
