The 4th Peace Pedal takes place this Saturday (15) in Porto Alegre. The traditional event is held by the Public Transport and Circulation Company (EPTC) and takes place at Júlio Mesquita square, in front of Usina do Gasômetro, at 9 am.
Those interested in participating can register for free. in this link and take a kilo of non-perishable food, which will be donated to a philanthropic institution registered with the City Hall of Porto Alegre.
The cycling tour, alluding to the International Cyclist Day, is part of the commemorations of the 251st anniversary of Porto Alegre and the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the EPTC.
The event will bring together active mobility enthusiasts on a ten-kilometer journey with the aim of valuing life through educational actions, reinforcing the culture of respect between people in daily traffic relations.
This edition will count on the presence of the pedal of the Associação de Cegos do Rio Grande do Sul (Acerg). The group was founded in 2016, based on the initiative of a group of visually impaired people, with the aim of enabling blind or low vision people, along with friends and family, to cycle through the streets of Porto Alegre. There will be 10 bicycles with a guide person (pedaller) and a visually impaired person pedaling together.
During the meeting, a draw will be held for 30 event participants to receive an express massage, promoted by the construction company MRV. In addition, the construction company will provide a hydration table that will have a kit with fruits, water and isotonic drinks.
At the end of the tour, EPTC will receive cyclists for a get-together in which subscribers will compete for awards in various categories. Among the prizes, a bicycle with a 29 rim and disc brakes, donated by Panther Bikes, will be raffled off.
