The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) issued an alert about changes in traffic in the Scharlau neighborhood, which will take place on Saturday, April 15, from 7 am to 7 pm. During this period, DNER and Garibaldi streets will be blocked. For users who need to travel in the Novo Hamburgo-Portão direction, through the right side street of the viaduct, it will be necessary to take the detour through Ipiranga and Cruzeiro do Sul streets. There will be clear and efficient signage to guide and ensure the safety of users in these locations.
The detour is essential to allow the continuity of the piling works for the viaducts that are under construction in the Scharlau neighborhood. The position of the stakes interferes with the right side street, requiring the blocking of DNER and Garibaldi streets. When the services are complete, traffic will return to its normal flow.
These works are part of Lot 1 of the operational and road safety improvements on the BR-116. Upon completion of the Scharlau complex, the site will have a free crossing, without the need for traffic lights, and will also have a new pedestrian walkway.
