Rissul inaugurated, this morning (30), its first unit in Estância Velha. The store, which is the chain’s 34th in the state, has a total area of 4,200 square meters, 2,100 of which are sales areas and a mix of more than 14,000 items.
This is the second branch to feature the chain’s new positioning “Pleasure to make you happy” and is located at Avenida Brasil, 455, on the corner of Rua Fagundes Varela, close to the center.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by executives from UnidaSul, the holding company that manages Rissul, and by local authorities. On the occasion, the mayor of Estância Velha, Diego Francisco, celebrated the network’s arrival in the city. “Without a doubt, today is a day of great joy, a day much awaited by the Estanciense community. Welcome Rissul to our city! Count on us ”, he said in his speech.
The president of UnidaSul, Augusto De Cesaro, highlighted the old desire to bring a Rissul unit to Estância Velha. “It was always in our plans to open a branch here. This unit was long awaited by us and the community. I feel that the city was waiting for us and there is nothing more gratifying than being received in this way”, emphasized the executive.
The Gaúcha Association of Supermarkets (AGAS) was represented at the inauguration by its president, Antônio Cesa Longo. “UnidaSul is a company that all of us in the supermarket sector respect and today it arrives at Estância Velha, helping the municipality to grow. The community will certainly find excellent products at Rissul”, highlighted Longo.

The newly opened unit marks the debut of Rissul in Estância Velha and brings to the city an operation that already has the new chain concept. In practice, this materializes through a modernization of the façade, review of the purchase flow, new store layout, among other details, as explained by UnidaSul’s Retail director, Robert Marks.
“Whoever goes to Rissul in Estância Velha will be able to enjoy a store with spacious aisles, cozy environments and well-signposted sectors, with lighting that enhances the products. It is a complete, modern and functional operation, but which maintains one of the main characteristics of Rissul, which is proximity to the community”, he stresses.
Among the main differentials of the new branch are the large cellar, with 750 labels of wines, sparkling wines and distillates, the frozen sector and the section of natural and restrictive products. This includes vegan, vegetarian, low carb, zero lactose options and food supplements.
The unit will also feature a novelty: new checkout models will be implemented and the store will have 16 cashiers available, 4 of which are fast cashiers – which will come into operation in the coming weeks. Still in relation to the structure, there are 110 parking spaces, two of them with charger for electric vehicles and 137 jobs generated.
