With a focus on increasing trade relations between Rio Grande do Sul and Israel, the Brazil Chamber – Israel (BRIL Chamber) will hold on March 30th, during the South Summit Brazil 2023, at the RS Innovation Stage at Cais Mauá, in Porto Alegre, at 2:30 pm, the inauguration ceremony of the regional BRIL Chamber in Rio Grande southern.
The event will count on the presence of Renato Ochman, president of the Brazil – Israel Chamber, who chose Sebastian Watenberg as director of the new regional office. Sebastian will add his expertise as former president of the Israeli Federation of RS and will have the mission to increase business between Rio Grande do Sul and Israel, mainly in the areas of agribusiness, industry and technology.
The trade balance between Brazil and Israel has been intensifying more and more. The sum of trade between the two countries had a great growth in 2022, going from US$ 1.5 billion to US$ 3.5 billion a year. Not to mention the businesses related to technology, which do not go through the scale.
“Israel is one of the greatest technological centers in the world and Rio Grande do Sul will benefit from this with the arrival of the sectional. We will manage to increase our attention on the sectors that most favor the relationship between the two countries, providing, through the BRIL Chamber, the opportunity for Rio Grande do Sul companies to internationalize”, highlighted Sebastian, who is also a specialist in the innovation ecosystem of Israel, knowledge that will add to this sector of the state.
“Currently there are more than 300 Israeli companies doing business directly or indirectly with Brazil. One of the areas with the greatest exponential growth is the technology segment, which can be applied to agribusiness, for example, including agricultural irrigation techniques, seed improvement and the use of drones in the field”, added Renato Ochman, president of BRIL Chamber.
In addition to Rio Grande do Sul, the Chamber opened in the last two years regional offices in Paraná, Pernambuco, Amazonas and Mato Grosso, aiming to expand business between Brazil and Israel in sectors such as agribusiness, trade, industry and technology. “We have fostered business between Brazil and Israel for over 60 years and have identified opportunities to take our work to regions of Brazil where Israeli solutions can have a significant impact,” concluded Ochman.
