The first Brazilian short film about cooperativism will be shown free of charge to the communities of São Leopoldo, Feliz and Linha Nova in April. Following the program with the aim of disseminating the history and principles of cooperativism, Sicredi Pioneira will screen the film “O Caminho de Hans”, alluding to the celebrations of the 120th anniversary of the credit union.
The schedule for the next exhibitions starts in Feliz, on April 12 (Wednesday), starting at 7 pm, at the city’s Cultural Center. Next, on April 14 (Friday), starting at 7 pm, it will be Santa Maria do Herval’s turn to receive the film at the Producer’s Fair, at the city’s Events Center. On April 15th (Saturday), the community of Linha Nova will be able to watch the short film from 19:00 onwards, along with the schedule of the 8th Heimatfest, at Parque Municipal Georg Heinrich Ritter.
On April 26 (Wednesday), São Leopoldo will host a screening of the film, starting at 7:30 pm, at the city’s Municipal Theater. In addition, exhibitions are planned in the cities of Ivoti, Novo Hamburgo and Caxias do Sul, with dates and locations to be announced.
The short is produced by Convergência Produtora and Accorde Filmes. With a light and engaging narrative and from the perspective of a boy, “O Caminho de Hans” is set in 1903, in the community of Linha Imperial, and shows how cooperativism transformed the life of a family with financial problems, who lived in the Gaucho countryside. Father Theodor Amstad, patron of cooperativism in Brazil and one of the founders of Sicredi Pioneira, is the one who, in the film, directs the family to cooperativism, an innovative system at the time.
