Volkswagen announces Ciro Possobom as the new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Volkswagen do Brasil. Ciro is the first Brazilian executive to assume the position of CEO of Volkswagen do Brasil and will report directly to Alexander Seitz, Executive Chairman of Volkswagen South America.
Ciro joined Volkswagen do Brasil in 2019 as Vice President of Finance and IT Strategies for Volkswagen do Brasil and South America Region and played a key role in transforming the company’s business in the region, with the expected return of positive operating results in the year fiscal year 2021.
In 2022, he was promoted to COO (Chief Operating Officer) of the company’s activities in Brazil, leading the implementation of the “ACELERA VW” strategy, based on the pillars +Diversa, +Digital, +Agile, +Customer-Centric and +Neutral in Carbon, and a new offensive including 15 new vehicles by 2025.

Ciro Possobom holds a degree in Business Administration from the Federal University of Paraná and an MBA in Finance from IBMEC. He has extensive international experience, mainly in countries in South America, Europe and Asia. For 21 years, he served in the finance area of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, where his last roles were CFO of Nissan Motor’s Electric Cars and Batteries business unit in Japan, Vice President of Finance for Programs, Partnerships and Business Units at Nissan Renault SAS in Paris and, since 2017, he has been Vice President of Administration, Finance and Information Technology at Nissan LatAm.
