A little over two weeks until Easter and the change of season, with the arrival of a milder climate in autumn, cheers up shopkeepers in Santa Cruz do Sul. Good sales are expected in this period, according to CDL Santa Cruz.
The entity’s president, Ricardo Fernando Bartz, points out that the climate models that make projections for the months ahead indicate, at this moment, that the winter in the South region in 2023 should have a temperature below the average. The cold should start along with the autumn-winter 2023 season, which officially started on March 20.
Even so, the period leading up to Easter will heat up the search for various items, such as gifts, in addition to clothing. Among the items most sold by shopkeepers at this time of year are blankets, slippers and pajamas. In the furniture and home appliances segment, the highlights are fireplaces, heaters and air conditioning with heating function.
Among Easter items, shopkeepers in the chocolates and gifts segment are excited.
The president of CDL Santa Cruz explains that the inconstancy of the economy means that there is uncertainty in the market. “But shopkeepers have experience that in the last few days leading up to the date, demand increases”, he argues.
Promotion
CDL Santa Cruz, due to the short deadline to close the traditional CDL Show of Awards campaign, will not have the promotion running for this Easter. The board is still finalizing the details of this year’s edition which, at first, should include only the dates of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
