Esteio prepares its 2023 Carnival for the 1st of April, at Parque Estadual de Exposições Assis Brasil, starting at 10 pm. Four Esteiense samba schools will parade at the event held by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, Sport and Leisure (SMCEL) together with the Esteiense League of Blocks and Samba Schools (Liesbe).
The public must enter through gates 9 and 10, which are on Avenida Celina Kroeff and will open at 8 pm. The parade will take place along the street at Gate 9. Admission and parking are free.
In addition to the Mocidade Independente do Jardim Planalto, Negritude, Academicos de Esteio and Salgueiro parades, the party night will end with a concert by Banda Saldanha.
Each group will have one hour to make its parade. They will be evaluated in nine different aspects, all of them worth individual trophies: drums, samba-plot, harmony, theme-plot, fantasy, evolution, master of ceremonies and flag bearer, allegory and front commission.
The two best will be awarded R$ 12,000 and R$ 8,000. Third place will receive a trophy. All four entities received R$ 20,000 from SMCEL, through the Municipal Culture Fund (FMC) to prepare for the parade.
The event will be produced by Tri Produtora, sponsored by InBetta, RodOil, Macromix Atacado and Ciapetro and sponsored by the Rouanet Law, from the Ministry of Culture.
Food truck registration
The Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and the Environment (SMDEMA) launched this Friday (17) a public notice for the selection of 15 food trucks to sell food during Carnival in Esteio. Entries must be made by completing the electronic form by next Wednesday (22).
Natural and legal persons who will need to take a course on good practices in handling food to participate in the event can apply. If there are more subscribers than the number of vacancies, the Secretariat will hold a public draw, on a date to be defined.
