The Environmental Defense Group (GDA) Ipson Pavani responded to an incident at the Municipal Elementary School (Emef) Paulo Beck, in the Vicentina neighborhood. The action caused great emotion in the little ones who, together with the teacher, provided a first assistance.
The rescue took place on Wednesday, March 15, when a baby pigeon was found by the children in the schoolyard. He was injured after falling out of the nest.
The students showed the bird to a teacher, who put the baby in a box, gave it water and called the GDA service.
When the agents arrived at the scene, the children were thrilled by the presence of the professionals and were reassured in knowing that the bird they had helped to rescue would be in good hands. The puppy was taken to the Canoas Municipal Zoo to receive proper care. After his rehabilitation he will be reintegrated into nature.
