The inclusion and theme “Do it with us, not for us” will be part of Gravataí Shopping actions to celebrate the month of International Down Syndrome Day – T21, March 21st.
One of the attractions for the moment of awareness about the syndrome will be the Model Parade held by the Gravatai association “Down Chute no Preconceito”, which will take place at the mall this Saturday (18), from 4 pm.
In all, 50 young people will parade on the catwalk, bringing visibility to issues around opportunities and protagonism for people with disabilities.
The association works in the fight for the inclusion of people with Down Syndrome in Gravataí, and currently serves around 120 families in the municipality. Based on the voluntary work of mothers, fathers, guardians and friends, Down Chute no Preconceito provides various types of welcoming with get-togethers, exchange of experiences, home visits for new members and initiatives that promote information, such as the Welcome Cartilha, launched last year.
One of the highlights of the Model Fashion Show will be the participation of DJ Rômulo, a professional from Porto Alegre with T21.
Solidown Walk
In addition to the Model Fashion Show on Saturday (18), the development will host the arrival of the 1st Solidown – Solidarity Walk. Organized by the association Down Chute no Preconceito in partnership with VOM (Viva o Movimento), Ulbra Gravataí and the Municipal Secretariat for Culture, Sports and Leisure (SMCEL), the sporting event will take place in Vila Caíbe on the 19th, Sunday, from from 5 pm.
